The state-sanctioned murder of Russian lawyer Sergie Magnitsky

Moscow tax lawyer Sergei Magnitsky was imprisoned on trumped-up charges as punishment for investigating interior ministry officials. Hermitage Capital Management had accused these same officials of tax fraud and corruption to the amount of $230 million. The vendetta against Magnitsky turned fatal when he died in a Russian prison on Monday, November 16th, 2009 after being denied urgent medical attention. Magnitsky was only 37 years old.
